Assistant Treasurer
The Assistant Treasurer will report directly to the State Street Bank International GmbH Treasurer and will assist in the direction and management of the bank’s treasury activities. This role involves overseeing and directing all aspects of daily treasury activities and playing a key role in SSBI’s Treasury organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Treasurer in driving strategic and regulatory initiatives within the Global Treasury organization, including balance sheet capacity allocation and resource optimization.
2. Manage the bank’s balance sheet strategy activities, focusing on balance sheet allocation, business limits setting, deposit pricing, and funds transfer pricing methodology.
3. Forecast the bank’s balance sheet and net interest income through partnership with the business and finance.
4. Manage the bank’s interest rate risk through scenario simulations focused on earnings, capital, and value at risk.
5. Manage the bank’s and its subsidiary’s capital plan and forecasts.
6. Oversee local/SSBI rating agency relationships and coordinate with Risk on Recovery and Resolution Planning requirements.
7. Manage the bank’s overall liquidity position and optimize its liquidity profile through data and quantitative initiatives.
8. Develop and implement the bank’s investment portfolio strategy to maximize net interest income while managing within the bank’s risk appetite.
9. Responsible for trade execution for the investment portfolio and all funding activities, including interest rate hedges, repo/reverse repo, and FX swaps.
10. Document and drive SSBI’s Treasury’s overall balance sheet strategy and analytical framework for resource allocation.
11. Coordinate with Treasury team to ensure timely submission of relevant reporting and committee materials.
12. Ensure effective first line controls with Risk, Audit, and other relevant control teams.
13. Engage with industry peers to understand best practices and industry trends.
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
1. Extensive experience (10+ years) in financial services, Global Treasury, and risk management/regulatory compliance.
2. Strong knowledge of capital, liquidity, and interest rate risk, along with key regulatory requirements.
3. Experience leading organization-wide cross-functional programs and managing competing priorities.
4. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
