International and interdisciplinary cooperation: As Telephony Expert, you will be part of the new company to be set up in the future and thus contribute to a globally networked team of around 4300 colleagues operating in over 50 countries. In your role, you will assess the telecommunication needs and requirements of the organisation and design telephone systems based on the business requirements and integrated into the overall IT infrastructure architecture. You will take on the planning of system architecture, call routing and redundancy measures to ensure reliability and scalability. You will independently manage the integration of telephony systems with other communication platforms such as e-mail, instant messaging and video conferencing. Reliably implement QoS mechanisms to prioritise voice traffic in networks and ensure high-quality voice communication. You identify and troubleshoot telephony-related issues, such as dropped calls, poor voice quality and connectivity issues, and perform packet capture, call log analysis and use diagnostic tools to diagnose and resolve problems. Your success will also include working with telecoms vendors and service providers to procure equipment, software licences and support services, as well as managing vendor relationships, evaluating products and solutions and negotiating service contracts to ensure cost efficiency and service quality. Last but not least, you will be responsible for compliance with telecoms regulations, industry standards and data protection laws, keeping up to date with regulatory changes and implementing the necessary measures. Qualifications Education: completed university studies in telecommunications engineering or a comparable subject Experience and Knowledge: several years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry, knowledge of telecommunications regulations, compliance standards and industry best practices, including regulatory requirements for emergency services; in-depth knowledge of telephone systems, including traditional landline systems (analogue and digital), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking; Knowledge of designing, configuring and troubleshooting voice network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, gateways and telephony servers and familiarity with VoIP protocols and standards; Knowledge of unified communications platforms that integrate voice, video, messaging and collaboration tools; Knowledge of telephony security best practices, including encryption protocols, authentication mechanisms and measures to protect against unauthorised access and eavesdropping Personality and Working Practice: ability to quickly understand complex issues and communicate successfully with many different stakeholders, always acting in a results-oriented manner Languages: business fluent in written and spoken German and English Additional Information We offer flexible working models: from various part-time options to mobile working and job sharing.
