About the opportunity N26 is looking for an experienced Head of Operational Excellence who will take responsibility for monitoring and continuous improvement of operational processes in the company. You will be responsible for analysing and improving all of our operational processes, ensuring maximum use of technology including AI. You are here to challenge and improve the status quo and foster collaboration and communication within the Operations business area and across internal cross-functional stakeholders and external partners. You will be partnering closely with our Co-Founder and COO Maximilian Tayenthal as well as the executive leadership team, Business and Operations leadership. In this role, you will: Develop a deep understanding of our operational processes along with the requirements from regulators and find ways to make them more efficient. Ensure the implementation of these improvements; in collaboration with teams from operations, technology, product and business. Work with the Director of Business and the Operations leadership team of N26, and jointly drive strong day-to-day operations and business planning with a focus on efficiency and scalability. Define and deliver projects end-to-end from initial strategy design to complete execution and ongoing improvement management. Constantly conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights and translate them into actionable strategies. Directly work with the Director of Business in driving outcomes of key projects, both from supporting planning and, at times, execution. Enhance the ways of working across the leadership team, and find creative ways to connect projects with their objectives. Drive culture of continuous improvement through best practice sharing and visible hands-on leadership. What you need to be successful: Background: 10 years prior experience in either: A fast paced growth start-up/fintech, scaling product led organisation, banking or management consulting. Worked in a similar role before closely with founding teams or CEOs. Strong Project Management skills and understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean) Skills: Understanding of technology and how it can improve operational processes; including AI. A quick learning ability, outstanding analytical skills and a structured way of thinking as well as an attention to details Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to calmly and confidently communicate and coordinate with all levels of the organisation Experienced in working with Product and Technology teams; able to speak their language and understand true constraints and how to overcome them An independent and proactive approach to new topics Project management skills: experience with ability to work independently and initiate activities, set priorities, manage multiple priorities and deliver results on-time Continuous improvement mindset to constantly challenge and raise the bar, analyse errors and issues and find ways to improve them Willingness to approach projects with a can-do attitude and create a process where one does not exist. Comfortable in a fast-moving, fluid environment A strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to transform goals into actionable plans Excellent analytical skills with robust excel/spreadsheets experience and proficient in project management and communications means and methods Traits: Actively help yourself (and others) be successful.
