This position can be based either in Erlangen, Germany or internationally, as long as the location is within a maximum of 6 time zones from Erlangen (CET). Your tasks and responsibilities: You define the Export Control and Customs (ECC) strategy, review policies, processes and procedures on a global level, including full exploitation of opportunities under local ECC regulations. You ensure the effective implementation of the global ECC strategy and compliance with legal requirements, securing full adherence to organizational and control responsibilities across all ECC departments globally. You develop plans and solutions to ensure ECC compliance and process optimization. You actively contribute to global cross learning activities, global efficiency improvements and global levelling of risk management schemes. You develop, deploy and manage all applicable trade compliance processes and procedures globally, ensuring close alignment with related subject matter fields internally, as well as externally. You maintain formal engagement and provide leadership to deploy trade standards globally. You are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of trade compliance and risk management. You drive the development of tools and automation and provide a continuously updated framework for all processes and controls. You lead global training and communication efforts while coordinating regional and local initiatives to ensure alignment and consistency. You lead a team of 4 ECC Professionals. You monitor and review ECC Data Privacy deployment and implementation. You have several years of substantial experience in Export Control and Customs and ideally in audit or review functions. You have several years of leadership experience with a diverse and global team. You have strong IT affinity, demonstrated through solid knowledge of SAP, data analytics, and contemporary IT applications. You are experienced in project management (e.g. reviews, spot checks, other strategic projects). Your attributes and skills: You are highly motivated and have a strong passion for solution- and result-oriented work. You possess strong analytical, methodical and problem-solving skills. You have a good understanding of business processes and are inspired by new and innovative projects in the ECC field. You act as an independent thinker with the confidence and presence to represent trade compliance in management reviews and challenge the status quo within the ECC framework. You design functional organizational structures, shape interfaces between teams and units as strictly or flexibly as required and establish effective communication and collaboration mechanisms across a large number of teams. You exhibit strong leadership and foster collaboration across all organizational levels, while maintaining a high level of self-motivation. You enjoy working in a global team and are fluent in English. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
