The German Primate Center (DPZ) - Leibniz Institute for Primate Research in Göttingen conducts basic research in primate biology, infection research, and neuroscience. It maintains four field stations and is a competence and reference center for research on and with primates. The DPZ is one of the 97 research and infrastructure facilities of the Leibniz Association. We are seeking for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist (m/f/div) to join our Laboratory Animal Science unit (Versuchstierkunde). The position is suitable for part-time work. The aim of our research is to counteract age-related and genetic risk factors of the cardiovascular system. For this purpose, we study AAV vector-based transgene application as well as gene editing in in vitro and in vivo models, including detailed analysis of molecular pathways and state-of-the-art omics. We thereby integrate molecular and cell biology with translational research. We are looking for someone with competent engagement, extraordinary achievement, and a genuine interest in biomedical science. You may apply if you are in possession of a PhD in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, experience in molecular biology (preferably with viral vectors and 2D / 3D in vitro assays) as well as lab management skills. You will join an ERC- / DFG- / BMBF-funded international research group in a well-equipped and scientifically stimulating surrounding with a communicative atmosphere. We offer support and assistance in designing your own approaches and provide access to state-of-the-art technologies, which are conducive to high caliber scientific results. We welcome diversity and applications from qualified people, regardless of their ethnic, cultural, and social background, gender, religion, ideology, disability, age, or personal identity. Registered disabled applicants with equal aptitude and qualifications will be given preferential consideration. We kindly ask you to indicate a disability in your application.
