The Director of Materials and Supply Chain EMEA is responsible for creating, articulating, and supporting Pall’s DMS (Danaher Material Systems) Strategy throughout the materials teams globally, with responsibility for their region. The Director of Materials will do this by working with and providing direction for Materials Managers on-site to tailor and then execute the PFEP based on Regional/Market nuance, with a goal to create a responsive end-to-end supply chain environment working with our Strategic Sourcing partners. This person is responsible for the dotted line management of the Materials Managers, providing support for their teams and direction on processes to ensure standards and alignment to Pall’s Global Strategy for DMS, Commodities, and Sourcing.
This role is an onsite position in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, and is part of the Global Integrated Supply Chain Team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
* Deploy site goals and targets by aligning global targets for materials managers.
* Develop PFEP standards & planning strategies and a holistic end-to-end planning process.
* Support & maintain strategic subcontractors and OEM business, ensuring they meet capacity, price, and quality demands.
* Support the Global Sourcing Team by knowing EMEA sourcing market for our products and services.
* Develop PFEP standards aligned to Global commodity strategies and provide feedback to the sourcing team to support and influence supplier decisions that impact inventory & service levels.
* Drive IMAG Tools & Standards ensuring problem-solving processes and resolution.
* Drive use of Kanban & DMS throughout Materials Organization.
* Assign SMART Inventory goals to Materials teams globally working with Finance and sourcing, using Pall DMS Tools and Best practices.
The essential requirements of the job include:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
* 5+ years of experience in materials planning and procurement in an international manufacturing and supply chain environment.
* 5+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, demand planning, and scheduling, including a solid understanding of procurement best practices.
* 5+ years of proven functional leadership experience within the procurement and inventory management field.
* 5+ years of experience supporting new business opportunities/proposals with supplier technical innovation/information.
* 5+ years of experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies, including lean conversion and KPIs improvement.
* 5+ years of working with ERP Systems based on MRP.
* Strong proficiency in German and English is essential for effective communication.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
* Knowledge of the Global Marketplace with experience ideally in filtration and separation processes or related disciplines.
* Experience in developing business strategy and leading strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives.
* Good record of KPIs improvement, on-time delivery, lead time, cost and inventory reduction, supplier development, etc.
