What you’ll be doing
The Head of Automotive Air and Ocean will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, long-term strategy for the "Automotive" vertical within the Air & Ocean Global division. The role will focus on creating and implementing strategies that drive sustainable growth, optimize operational efficiency, and strengthen the sales pipeline across key markets.
You will be contributing to that vision by…
* Develop short and long term operational strategies and Budget Plans for “Automotive” business in partnership with the country organizations and provide the leadership necessary for the successful design and development.
* Execution of Automotive strategy to achieve measurable outcomes in a timely, cost-effective manner.
* Lead operational – Automotive unit(s) and entities in countries within Rhenus Air & Ocean in accordance with operational excellence targets and sign responsible for their P&L.
* Provide ongoing advice, educate, and impart knowledge on how to handle Automotive business.
* Responsible for business development, including attending to and retaining the current automotive business.
* Development of strategic client partnerships for high priority Automotive customers.
* Strengthen the position of Rhenus Air & Ocean as a thought leader in the Automotive industry.
* Develop, implement, and monitor policies and practices to ensure compliance; evaluate and approve new SOPs.
* Observation of the market development, identification, and realization of growth opportunities by deriving suitable strategic measures.
* Lead strategic Automotive projects as well as close cooperation with the teams of the global network.
* Support the development of cross-selling potential.
* Responsible for achieving the defined budget goals by ensuring operational excellence.
* Design of new customer-specific solutions as well as the active further development of the vertical in close cooperation with the Product department.
* Ensure the professional suitability and further development of the assigned employees for the Automotive area.
What skills & experience you’ll bring to us
* University degree with a focus on Transport, Logistics or Supply Chain.
* Excellent knowledge of the “Automotive” forwarding market and customer contacts in the industry.
* The ability to network on high levels and be credible when interacting with senior individuals within client companies is essential.
* Demonstrated ability to grasp a large, complex, matrix-oriented global business at a base level and use this understanding to set overall strategy and improve business processes.
* Results-focused and very good interpersonal skills to win and develop customers.
* Highly self-motivated, hands-on, can-do attitude, self-confident and customer-focused.
* Proven ability to select talent and create a productive environment that promotes initiative, innovation, continual learning, and development of key personnel for future advancement.
* A broad knowledge of management practices and good business analysis/project management skills.
* Willing to travel globally (about 50% of the time).
