As Maintenance Manager / SuM Maintenance Lead you will be responsible for execution of the Maintenance function as it relates to:
* Before Start-up: ensuring operational practices are strategically developed and implemented prior to Plant start up.
* After Start-up: ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance on the site. You seek to maximize the uptime of the production tool and manage the department's budget and team. You will report to Plant Manager / SuM Manager and work in close collaboration with SuM Team, Regional and Global Support Team and Engineering Team.

Before Start-up:
echnical Expertise:
* Provide expert guidance and technical support to project teams regarding design, specifications, equipment selection, and installation requirements
* Ensure execution of Readiness Checklist containing a very detailed list of activities leading to the creation of a similar system as in other McCain plants. All activities described below in section “After Start-up” are included in the checklist to be designed
Collaboration:
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including project management, operations, procurement, and external vendors
* Participate in Basic and Detailed Design reviews as well as URS, P&ID, FDS, 3D model reviews with project and contractors teams to ensure optimal design from point of view of Maintenance and in relation to Safety, Ergonomics, Food Safety, Sustainability, communication, material and waste flow, required tasks and other activities
* Ensure all maintenance personnel are engaged, their input, ideas and changes relayed back to the Start-up Team
Risk Management
* Identify potential risks and challenges and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and operational efficiency
Health, Safety Quality, Environment:
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, codes, and best practices
* Conduct quality assurance checks and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and Safety and Sustainability requirements at any stage: basic and detailed engineering, FAT&Simulations, CQV and processing French Fries
* Ensure alignment with Global and Regional Maintenance strategy
Continuous Improvement:
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering & maintenance processes, systems, and technologies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability and build “Plant of the Future”
Training and Development:
* Provide training and mentorship to maintenance team members and project stakeholders to enhance technical capabilities and ensure alignment with company standards and best practices
* Build Maintenance organization (including optimization of staffing model and MDIxAI) and manage the organization according to McCain Maintenance Standard Model
Safety focus:
* Lead the development of Procedures in line with McCain’s safety transformation and culture. Take in consideration the future Maintenance and Operation users to deploy a proper approach while designing the technical solutions for Manufacturing
After Start-up:
Maintenance budget and investments:
* Manage and track plant maintenance budgets
* Commit to all maintenance expenses by signing purchase requisitions
* Validate investment plans for replacement machines/ installations, considering TCO, resource efficiency and obsolescence
Coordination and control of maintenance activities:
* Coordinate and supervise all maintenance activities to maintain and improve production tools while optimizing costs and productivity
* Control the execution and quality of interventions
* Implement work methods to ensure follow-up of interventions
* Handle potential disputes with suppliers
* Continuously look for improvement of maintenance activities driving Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental footprint, SCA · Encourage staff involvement and participation in the continuous improvement process
* Be the key point of contact for maintenance audits (e.g., KER, Maintenance Maturity Assessment) and follow up action plan post audits
Communication & training:
* Guide and motivate maintenance staff to achieve objectives
* Anticipate and inform stakeholders impacted by maintenance operations
* Clarify and communicate the company's strategic challenges to the team
* Ensure skills development in the team and be responsible for evaluation of the maintenance team
Health, Safety Quality, Environment:
* Ensure that the maintenance team adheres to the health, safety, quality and environmental rules
* Involve staff in the various plant initiatives related to Safety/Environment/Quality
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
* At least 4 years of experience in maintenance, with a proven track record of leading maintenance and deployment projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Strong technical expertise in the design, operation, and maintenance, including knowledge of relevant engineering principles, codes, and standards.
* Understanding of the maintenance requirements in food production
* Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans, as well as quick problem-solving during breakdowns.
* Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and specific safety and maintenance regulations
* Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring maintenance projects, including budget management and scheduling.
* Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and external partners.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
* Strong leadership abilities, with experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers and technical professionals.
* Familiarity with project management principles and practices, including experience with project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
* Fluency in German and English; additional languages such as French, or Dutch is a plus.
