Fitch Ratings is currently seeking an Associate Director based in our Frankfurt, or another EU office.
Fitch Ratings’ EMEA Corporate group provides public and private ratings of companies and their debt instruments in Europe, Middle East and Africa. The department employs a team of over 100 credit analysts across Europe.
The EMEA Industrial Ratings team covers over 100 public credits, spanning Aerospace & Defence, Capital Goods, Auto Manufacturers, Packaging, Building Materials and Construction.

We’ll Count on You To:
• Lead rating processes for a portfolio of credits focusing on industrial sectors interacting with corporate debt issuers and rating advisors
• Present and discuss your rating recommendations, ideas and facts effectively in writing and verbally to a rating committee
• Deliver quality outputs to internal and external parties within deadlines
• Use effective questioning and listening skills in internal credit discussions and those with external constituents
• Initiate and assist in producing thematic research reports in your coverage sectors
• Participate in investor and prospective issuers outreach
• Keep fully up to date with market/industry developments and proactively manage your rating portfolio in response to credit events
• Conduct work in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
• Be available to travel in EMEA region, primarily in the EU
• Contribute to a team spirit of intelligent and open discussion as well as of cooperation
What You Need to Have:
• Independent thought and solid corporate credit analysis skills backed by a multi-year corporate finance background in banking, financial services or industry
• Solid cash flow modelling skills
• Knowledge of financing instruments and familiarity with financing documentation
• Well-developed communication and teamwork skills
• Fluency in all forms of written and spoken English
• Time management skills and ability to cope with tight deadlines
• Reliability and integrity
What Would Make You Stand Out:
• Prior first-hand knowledge of industrial sectors
• Knowledge of leveraged finance and high-yield structures and financial products
• Project management skills to drive rating assignments and research in collaboration with other sector teams
• Knowledge of other European languages such as German, French, Italian or Spanish
