Design Director - Brand Creative - Creative Direction (m/f/d)
PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION
We are looking for a Design Director to join the Global Brand Creative team, our creative department at the heart of adidas.
Our team works to set the visual look, tone and feel for adidas on a global level, across the edges of sport and the culture it inspires. We are looking for someone familiar with these worlds with demonstrated capabilities in concepting and executing branded content and campaigns to a global audience.
This role is a crucial leadership role within our creative team, in which the individual will develop and direct industry leading creative solutions, to create a highly relevant, desirable and clear brand image, from sell-in (internal) to sell-out (consumer-facing). The successful candidate will have great experience in leading and managing creative teams, both internal and external to achieve world class results and drive the direction of the brand at a category level, with a focus on the sport and performance sides of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead the creative development for Brand Creative, across multiple consumer touchpoints, from 2D to retail to digital and moving image.
* Develop concepts and creative strategies that fulfill objectives of category, concept and brief and fulfill brand vision.
* Advise / Support Communications / Business Units / Creative Direction partners on the creative interpretation of project specific and strategic needs while guiding the implementation of the Brand Creative.
* Create and Drive Creative Community Culture – developing unique inspiration and learning experiences.
* Collaborate with cross-functional brand partners to ensure consumer- and brand focus.
* Set creative and assignment-related priorities for the team.
* Lead the execution of creative strategies to ensure end to end creative excellence, from sell-in to sell-out (consumer-facing).
* Direct a variety of creative resources (agencies, freelancers, videographers, photographers etc) on creative execution to ensure holistic creative excellence.
* Review and approve all stages of creative execution, both in-house and from external partners.
* Maximize results within given budget and timeframes.
* Participate in the creation of annual and long-term Creative Direction strategies, in support of the Senior Design Director.
* Present and communicate creative solutions with clarity, effectively selling in ideas to a variety of stakeholders.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and change, and initiate own proposals/projects.
* Act as a thought leader for the wider Brand Creative team in the realm of creativity and brand building.
* Seek out new creative resources and platforms that can deliver world class results.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* IT skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint: advanced /Outlook
* Design apps: expert
* Strong visual and verbal skills with the ability to create impactful/exciting visuals
* Solid education and advanced experience in the creative development of communication tools
* Proven experience with the entire design process (project scope and time planning, design steps, production/execution of design solution, pre-press processes)
* Passion for adidas and sport culture
* Passion for creativity and design
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Undergraduate level Design education or combination thereof
* At least 8 years experience in Sporting Goods/Fashion Industry or Design on managerial level
* Minimum 2 years personnel management experience
