As a Software Architect at Siemens Energy, you will play a crucial role in defining methods and software architectural concepts for global engineering tools. You will ensure that we build on the most uniform and standardized components possible, providing new sustainable engineering solutions in a timely manner while keeping operational costs to a minimum. Your expertise will also support non-standard functional requirements from end-customers, contributing to sustainable software development in line with Siemens Energy guidelines such as cybersecurity and IT development standards.
How You’ll Make an Impact
* Define guidelines for Transformer software tool development and actively shape their evolution while collaborating with stakeholders to analyze and design solutions based on business/user requirements.
* Handover and maintain software components for in-house operations at transformer production sites, providing user support and ensuring effective implementation.
* Enhance development methods and processes within a multicultural agile team, executing software projects using Agile methodologies like SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
* Collaborate with cross-departmental colleagues to identify digitalization needs, conceptualizing and developing new software solutions alongside developers, programmers, and designers.
* Document existing systems architecture, recommend improvements, and liaise with vendors to address software implementation and adaptation issues.
* Conduct regular code reviews to ensure design quality, mentor junior engineers, and stay updated on industry trends to maintain an innovative and competitive platform.
What You Bring
* Master’s degree in computer science or relevant fields such as physics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or software engineering, with several years of experience in developing mechanical and/or electromagnetic software components for non-standard customer requests.
* Expert knowledge of transformer portfolio related to electrical and mechanical design processes, manufacturing technologies, and a solid understanding of software architecture principles, including microservice architecture and object-oriented programming in C++ or C#.
* Proficiency in the .NET technology stack, design patterns, SOLID principles, and MVVM/S paradigm, along with many years of experience in developing desktop applications and controls using the WPF framework.
* Strong communication skills in English, willingness to travel internationally, and experience with software development tools and projects, including GIT workflow, Azure DevOps, and continuous integration and deployment.
* Familiarity with agile methodologies and the Scaled Agile Framework, coupled with strong technical expertise in solution architecture, integration, and concept development.
* Proven experience in product lifecycle management from concept to market launch, with the ability to align software solutions with business goals and customer needs.
