Head of Systems Engineering - Aerospace and Defence
Location: Baden-Württemberg region, Germany
Are you a Systems Engineering Leader with mechanical or hardware engineering expertise? iO Associates is partnering with an international engineering company in Southwest Germany, known for its large-scale Aerospace & Defence projects. They are currently looking for a Head of Systems Engineering with defence industry experience and knowledge of electrical drive technology to lead innovative solutions.
Annual salaries are up to 115,000 EUR with financial relocation assistance available. Candidates must have at least B2-level German language proficiency.
Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in the defence industry or excellent knowledge of electrical drive technology
2. 5+ years of leadership experience and experience in managing complex system development projects and budgets
3. Experience in systems engineering in the following areas: mechanical engineering, software and hardware development, with in-depth knowledge in one of these areas
4. B2 level or above in German and English, both spoken and written
5. Willingness to travel up to a few days per month
Responsibilities:
1. Leading, motivating, and developing a team consisting of multi-disciplinary engineers
2. Managing development projects focused on rotary and linear electromechanical drives for directional and ammunition flow systems, as well as electronics for complex military drive solutions and complete platforms for various weapon systems.
3. Creating and overseeing the development budget and implementing cross-functional strategies to optimize design and manufacturing costs.
4. Enhancing and maintaining the development process, including the relevant guidelines.
5. Driving innovation and advancing organisational and process development.
6. Reporting directly to the Business Manager for Defence.
