Since 2022, Technoenergy AG has doubled in size and is undergoing a transformation to align with global best practices. The company is a leader in cold and hot induction bending of pipes and specializes in all types of welding for carbon and stainless steel materials. It operates under stringent quality standards (EN, ASME, and nuclear codes) and maintains an in-house test lab and robust quality management system.
Location: Eberswalde, Germany (Primary base; international travel required) / Lucerne, Switzerland (Head office)
Languages: Fluent English (mandatory); German - (working proficiency is a plus), understanding Ukrainian (is a plus)
About the Role: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)- full time
As CFO, you will lead the financial operations and strategy of Technoenergy AG, driving financial performance, strengthening systems, and preparing the company for IPO readiness. Reporting to the Group CEO, this key leadership role requires expertise in managing complex industrial operations and a strategic vision to support long-term growth.
The ideal candidate will have significant international operational experience within the industrial setting and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
As CFO, you will play an integral part in steering the organization through a period of growth, ensuring the company is well-positioned for future expansion and financial sustainability. The role will also involve navigating the specific industrial landscapes in Europe, Asia and Eastern Germany and leading transformative initiatives that support long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy and Leadership
o Collaborate closely with the Group CEO and other senior leaders to define and execute financial strategies focused on funding, risk management, and international structuring.
o Ensure alignment of financial initiatives with the overall organizational goals, positioning finance as a strategic business partner across all business units.
o Lead efforts to drive IPO readiness, embedding transparency, compliance, and adherence to global market standards.
o Manage investment opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), supporting long-term growth and operational integration.
2. Operational Excellence
o Oversee the implementation of a robust financial reporting system across all group entities, ensuring timely and accurate consolidation.
o Lead the implementation of an ERP system to streamline financial processes and reporting efficiency.
o Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting to ensure financial objectives are met.
o Strengthen internal controls, emphasizing cost optimization and maintaining financial discipline.
o Spearhead digital transformation initiatives to enhance financial operations and compliance across the organization.
3. Risk and Compliance Management
o Ensure the company’s compliance with international accounting standards and regulations.
o Identify and manage key financial risks, including currency, credit, and tax risks.
o Develop and implement long-term risk management strategies that support both short-term and strategic financial goals.
4. Team Leadership and Development
o Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team focusing on establishing a strong financial function in Germany.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
o Champion leadership development within the finance function.
5. Investment and Growth
o Assess and execute investment opportunities to support the company’s long-term growth.
o Optimize capital allocation to maximize ROI and drive profitability.
o Provide strategic insights to help guide the company’s growth trajectory, including identifying new areas for expansion or investment.
Year 1
* Establish a strong finance team in Germany capable of driving high-performance standards.
* Implement the ERP system and establish consolidated monthly reporting across the group.
* Conduct standalone audits in Switzerland and Germany, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
* Resolve outstanding issues and strengthen internal financial controls to support business growth.
Years 1–3
* Lead the organization through IPO readiness, ensuring compliance, transparency, and readiness to attract global investment.
* Position the finance function as a strategic partner across all entities, fostering deeper integration and alignment with business goals.
* Drive a successful digital transformation of the finance function, optimizing processes and improving efficiency across the board.
Preferred Experience
* 15+ years of financial leadership, including expertise in financial reporting, cost accounting, and treasury management.
* Proven track record of implementing ERP systems and leading finance teams in industrial or manufacturing sectors.
* Strong experience collaborating with CEOs, boards, and others on strategic initiatives.
* Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), driving integration and long-term growth.
Education Requirements
* Degree: A strong academic foundation in finance or business is essential. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
* Professional Certifications: CPA, CFA, ACCA, or similar certifications are a plus.
