What's the role?
We are looking for a passionate Intern / Working Student/ Master Thesis Student to join our team and to be a part of an international group of over 50 nationalities who are creating services for the digital world of tomorrow.
We offer the opportunity to work on recent location / spatial data technology.
You will be embedded and contributing to real world projects and applications, and in collaboration with your university.
Responsibilities:
* You will be working closely with the development team to contribute to our QGIS tool stack.
* You will contribute to the development of a product which will enable the HERE Content as a self-serve experience for the GIS user.
* As part of our Frankfurt core team connected to a globally organized team of experts you will work on the extension of a very prominent OSS GIS tool to enable further capabilities for map making and working with maps.
Who are you?
* You are a student looking for an internship in an intercultural engineering team of map makers.
* You have a background in computer science, geo information science, geography or any related science.
* You know about Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Test Driven Development (TDD).
* You have practical programming skills, ideally in Python, SQL and web development.
* You heard about and you are eager to learn more about UI/UX design, wireframe, story board and relevant frameworks (. Qt, JavaScript, CSS), Version control systems, code review and continuous development processes like Git, Github, Gitlab, etc..
* You are familiar with geospatial data formats like GeoJSON, GeoParquet, and GeoPackage.
* You are excited to use your theoretical background to develop user-friendly software solutions in close contact with users and integrating their feedback to improve the software.
* You are a motivated, critical thinker and problem solver to make things happen.

We are open to hire in Germany- Frankfurt/ Munich/ Berlin; Netherlands- Eindhoven; Poland- Krakow
For Germany, it is a 20hrs/week contract for 6 months for a working student or for 40 hours/ week for an Internship (only if it is mandatory)/ Master Thesis for 3-6 months.
*Applicant needs to have student status and must be enrolled in a German university in and around Frankfurt/ Hesse/ Main, Berlin or Munich region. Please note we only provide mandatory internship which is part of your required curriculum and if you have not already undertaken one.
For Krakow, it can be for 3 months for 40hrs/ week or for 6 months for 20hrs/ week
