In the department »Precision technology and automation«, we deal with demanding challenges in the manufacturing industry to increase the efficiency of production processes.
Within the scope of your thesis, you will investigate different measurement principles and their applicability for the measurement of geometric errors in machine tools. You will perform simulative and experimental studies to develop a sensor concept using a combination of different measurement principles that is able to detect geometric errors with a sufficiently small measurement uncertainty.
What you will do
* Support in the metrological detection of geometric errors
* Conduct simulative and experimental studies to develop a sensor concept
* Conduct research to identify current trends and developments
What you bring to the table
* You are studying mechanical engineering, computational engineering science (CES), electrical engineering or a comparable subject
* Experience in MATLAB and/or Python is advantageous
* A high degree of initiative, independence and motivation
* Good language skills in German and/or English
