PhD Student in RNA Biology in Infection
The Institute of Microbiology at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is seeking a PhD student to investigate the role of RNA-binding proteins during pathogenic development of the plant pathogenic fungus Ustilago maydis.
Main Tasks:
* To understand the underlying molecular mechanisms of fungal pathogens using RNA biochemistry, microbial genetics, and live cell observation.
* To combine innovative RNA proximity labelling approaches with transcriptome-wide level regulation.
Your Profile:
* A Master degree in biology/biochemistry or related life sciences.
* Practical experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or microbiology.
* Experience in eukaryotic microorganisms, plant pathogens, RNA biochemistry, and/or fluorescence microscopy is desirable.
Our Offer:
* An excellent research environment with state-of-the-art equipment.
* The opportunity to integrate into our research networks.
* A qualification position to promote scientific qualification.
We offer an attractive remuneration package, including company pension grant, flexitime, international work opportunities, and more. We welcome applications from people of all genders and are committed to promoting diversity among our staff.
