The PathwaysLeadership Internship is a 10-12 week full-time Internship in ouroperations network for enrolled MBA/MSc/MEng/PhD with 3 to 10 yearsof experience in a complex role. You will be given a businesscritical challenge to find a solution for as well as gainingpractical experience of being a leader of large teams. Yourinternship will conclude by presenting an innovative solution tosenior management based on your observations, hands on involvementand analytical research within operations. Upon completion of theinternship program, your performance will be evaluated. Yourperformance evaluation, along with role availability, willdetermine your opportunity to join the full-time Pathways programin 2026.
About the PathwaysProgram
Pathways is a three year programdesigned to rapidly develop experienced MBA and Master levelgraduates with the skills needed to be Amazons next SeniorOperations Managers and beyond. This is the opportunity to chartyour own course. Pathway’s members are highly visible to seniorleadership through an exclusive mentoring network. They haveflexibility with changing roles, sites and geographies. Through aseries of intense, progressively challenging opportunities in ourbest in class operations network, we will stretch your leadershipcapacity to its full potential. Yourdevelopment in the Pathways Program (if you join us full time afterthe internship)
Step 1:
Extendedonboarding as an Area Manager (front line leader) until yousuccessfully managed your first peak holiday season. Learn aboutAmazon Operations from A to Z and lead a team of 50-100 people.
Step 2:
Once onboarded, youprogress into your role as Operations Manager and will gainexperience in leading other managers and approx. 400 team members.Drive improvements in operational processes by workingcross-functionally with Amazon technology and engineering teams.
Step 3:
Promote to a SeniorOperations Manager where you will lead through others to executeregional or network wide initiatives. With your promotion you willgraduate from the Pathways Program but continue to have access toimportant mentoring resources.

- Lead continuous improvementprojects which could impact safety, productivity, quality and mostimportantly customer experience
- Develop standardoperating procedures
- Direct accountability for settingand meeting operational goals
- Scope and designstandardized concepts
- Shadow leaders across operationsto learn what it takes to be a manager at Amazon
- Withsupport from management, lead large teams across different shifts
- Learn how leaders conduct weekly business reviews fortheir sites and support them in the preparation of business reviews
- Collaborate with senior management and support teams,which may include Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QualityAssurance and Human Resources, to develop plans to meet businessobjectives

BASICQUALIFICATIONS
You need to meet 100% of theserequirements to apply for a position at Amazon.
-Currently enrolled in an MBA/MSc/PhD/MEng and available for 10-12weeks between June and October to work full time
-Between 3 and 10 years of complex professional experience(excluding internships and work studies) with responsibility forproject management and delivery
- Very good command ofGerman and English (CEFR B2) at the time of application
-Flexible to work in non-traditional shift patterns, which mayinclude nights and weekends
- Open to relocate withinthe country you have applied to work within
- Analyticalskills and sound business judgment
- Delivered complexprojects, where you have been required to engage teams andleadership to deliver on business initiatives or goals
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- You haveprofessional experience in engineering, management, logistics,manufacturing, science or any other STEM field
-Demonstrable decision-making skills, enabling you to use soundreasoning as and when required
- Direct managementexperience for employees and their performance
-Previous experience in setting, monitoring and improving KPIs orsimilar metrics
- Successful track record in supportinginternal or external customers
- Exceptionalinterpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen techniques andmethodologies
Our Pathways internship program requires aminimum of 10 working weeks between beginning of June and beginningof September. If it is not possible for you to obtain yourvisa/work permit maximum one week before your Day 1 with us, we mayhave no other choice than cancelling your internship under thisprogram for the agreed cycle, but we will endeavor you theopportunity to re-interview for another internship or even for apermanent Amazon job in 2025, subject toavailability.
