MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES This role will lead all sales activities for our new C&I energy storage business and will be responsible for establishing a full turn-key solution business across Europe. The target market includes small to mid-sized commercial, industrial, community solar and storage installations. In this newly created position, you’ll have a unique opportunity to lead our initial go-to-market strategy and business plan that establishes a sustainable customer base, drive revenue growth, and solidifies Canadian Solar as the leading energy storage manufacturer. In this role, you will report to the President EMEA. We’re searching for a leader who can build, lead, motivate, and develop a capable group of individuals and be a strategic sales and business developer. To be successful in this role, you will use your advanced knowledge and skillset in the solar, storage, and renewables industry to pursue and close profitable growth opportunities and customer agreements within the targeted segment. Key responsibilities will include: Set up and develop the new Turnkey C&I Storage business by providing leadership and taking responsibility for business development and sales, driving and overseeing business development, sales, planning, hiring and team development, business operations and execution, and key account management. Build and maintain deep expertise about the market, the industry, and key players who drive and influence investment decisions; collect and analyze data and customer needs for existing and future products and solutions to identify opportunities and potential impacts on sales. Drive sales and strategically target key markets and customers, leveraging industry connections. Manage existing and foster new customer relationships focusing on high-value opportunities in target markets. Execute business plans, emphasizing development and maintaining strong relationships at senior customer levels. Collaborate with customers and internal teams to achieve business growth objectives. Lead negotiations and ensure regulatory compliance with contract administration requirements. Provide accurate sales forecasts and sales reporting and drive conversion of leads into revenue. Partner with the contract negotiation team (technical, commercial, legal etc.) and take the lead on contract negotiations. Contribute to the development of the marketing strategy and communication to enhance brand and solution awareness. Align with the executive management team and peers to ensure that business targets are defined and met. Regularly visit customers and participate in trade shows, conferences, and field marketing events. COMPETENCIES Demonstrated ability in successfully managing complex contractual negotiations involving multiple stakeholders as well as the ability to identify key decision makers. Understanding of financial reports and return of investment calculations. Excellent sales-related skills, including knowledge of the sales process: ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies, present comprehensive sales proposals to customers, negotiate complex contracts, and close large dollar projects/deals. Global perspective and awareness, and direct experience working across diverse cultures in a multinational company would be beneficial. LANGUAGES Fluent in English (German or other European languages would be a plus) LOCATION Germany, Italy, Spain, or remote Your backpack is filled with 10 years’ experience in a project development, turnkey service & execution, sales, business development leadership role Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field preferred Solid experience in selling to and/or dealing with the targeted market and turnkey solutions Proven experience achieving key sales goals or project development targets High proficiency of MS Office applications and other CRM systems would be a plus. Ability to travel as required (up to 50%). Percentages will vary.
