I'm partnered with a market leading chemicals manufacturer that is currently searching for a Production Controller to join their team in Cologne, Germany. Unlike many other companies, they tailor their products to a diverse range of industries including construction, food, agriculture, cables, coatings and many more. Due to the continuous growth of the company, they're actively looking to increase the headcount within their various supply chain teams and are searching for likeminded production professionals with experience in the chemicals sector.
Responsibilities:
* Formulation and execution of a comprehensive global procurement strategy.
* Identification, assessment, and negotiation with international suppliers and service providers, particularly in the procurement of critical raw materials.
* Detection and mitigation of procurement risks to guarantee supply security during periods of market volatility.
* Adoption of strategies aimed at consistently lowering costs while maintaining quality and sustainability standards.
* Directing, mentoring, and nurturing a team of four procurement professionals.
* Evaluation and refinement of purchasing processes through digital transformation, automation, and improved efficiency.
* Close cooperation with production, quality assurance, research and development, and logistics to facilitate a seamless material flow.
* Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of market trends, price fluctuations, and developments in the chemical raw materials sector.
Experience Required:
* 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement in a leadership role, ideally within the chemical sector.
* Experience in management within a medium-sized organization is beneficial.
* Experience procuring chemical raw materials and related supplies.
* Exceptional negotiation abilities, coupled with strong communication and assertiveness skills, are necessary, particularly in international settings.
* Proficiency in ERP systems, such as SAP, and advanced knowledge of Excel are expected.
* Fluency in both German and English is mandatory
