Hauptaufgaben
Instructions: Provides technical guidance and assistance to shop patrons on make-up, operation and installation of all components, assemblies and systems of all types of privately owned auto vehicles of American or foreign manufacture. Gives individual advice to military personnel, DAC personnel, and dependents, having varying degrees of knowledge and ability regarding automotive maintenance and repair of the POV's. Gives on-the-spot instructions to diagnose malfunctioning of motors, transmissions, brakes, clutches, drive shifts, universals, mufflers, wheel bearings, electrical and hydraulic systems, etc. Involved in the full range of general repairs including complete disassembly and repair of major components- Explains or demonstrates the use of testing and diagnosing apparatus, valve re-facing machine, electric drills, compressor, battery charger, spark plug cleaning and testing equipment, hydraulic jacks, lifting hoists, gauges, wrenches, and various other hand and special tools. Supports these explanations by training media and displays to demonstrate maintenance and repair methods. Provides various mechanic services on customer vehicles including tire mounting and balancing, oil changes, brake and suspension services. Towing duties: Operates the shop tow truck. Drives and navigates to the destination, completes appropriate paperwork, coordinates pick-up with customers. Is responsible for the safeguarding and condition of all equipment assigned to the shop. Performs maintenance on equipment as required.
Performs maintenance checks confirming the vehicles safe operation is guaranteed. Shop and Program Administration: Maintains records pertaining to tools and equipment on hand, attendance and other data reflecting the activities of the shop. Initiates requisitions for replenishment of both expendable and non-expendable equipment and supplies. Collects fees and charges for facility and equipment usage. Safeguards cash and change fund. Prepares and submits reports. Gives periodic demonstrations or short courses to stimulate the interest in the program, to supplement workshop activities, and to discuss common problems of automotive vehicles. Provides publicity in the form of posters, flyers etc. Maintains appropriate European CE class driver license or US equivalent class 2. Operates vehicle loading crane and other loading functions of the tow truck, secures vehicle to prevent movement while driving. Supports military police as requested towing abandoned vehicles to the vehicle impound lot.
Performs other duties as assigned.

C-5:
E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 1 year of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 1 year of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level III and above: No additional experience required.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled
• Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class CE.
• Office automation skills required.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English AND German Language Proficiency level B2 required.

• The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel).
