Your Responsibilities : As a global key expert, you will lead the implementation of mass balance and be the first point of contact for the certification body. In close alignment with the certification body, you will analyze and develop company-specific approaches for implementing mass balance accounting You will act as a backup during audits to explain and defend our methodology You will be responsible for the ISCC PLUS-compliant implementation of mass balance in automation tools, e.g., for book-keeping and automated footprint calculation and you will drive the automation of processes in your area of responsibility to increase efficiency and accuracy You combine technical expertise with strategic acumen: You leverage your in-depth knowledge of production processes and products to advance the Mass Balance methodology for Covestro and convincingly represent it to various stakeholders You will be responsible for defining and executing life cycle assessment (LCA) studies from which you will derive actionable recommendations. Collaboration with internal stakeholders such as BE Sustainability Managers and research teams will be essential You will continuously build expertise in the areas of Mass Balance and Circular Economy for Covestro by monitoring publications and participating in external congresses and working groups Your Profile : You hold a Master’s degree (University / technical university) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or other natural science studies with chemical background. A PhD is preferred but not mandatory You have longstanding relevant professional experience, with a solid background in technology evaluation, research & development, strategy, process technology, controlling or sustainability assessments You are experienced in leading small to medium sized, cross-functional projects and conducting LCA studies You possess outstanding analytical skills and can present and communicate complex aspects clearly and transparently to various target groups.
