We are looking for a Head of Trade Compliance (gn) for the Legal department at our Remscheid location.
Your Tasks:
1. Legal impact assessment with regard to the divisions business activities on a global level
2. Monitoring of global legal developments in the areas of export controls and sanctions
3. Provision of internal information, e.g. by means of databases, newsletters, etc.
4. Derive, develop, implement and support adequate follow-up measures, e.g. internal research, counselling, trainings, trade control systems and projects, etc.
5. Cooperation and representation of interests in national and international committees, associations, towards politics and authorities, etc.
6. Assumption of further tasks in the area of trade control as required, e.g. M&A due diligence, legal project support, contract reviews, internal legal advice, audit support, etc.
7. Supervise the group companies internal compliance program as approved by management and the Export Officer
8. Coordinate the audit processes to ensure foreign trade compliance for the assigned business units from a global perspective
9. Implementation of a foreign trade training program on a global level
10. Determination and definition of processes, IT procedures and specifications for all relevant areas, incl. sales and project management on a global level
Your Professional Expertise and Soft Skills:
1. At least 5 years of professional experience in the areas of global export controls and sanctions legislation, preferably in an industrial environment, alternatively in (legal) consulting
2. Excellent expertise in export control and sanctions laws (in particular CH, DE, EU, US, CN)
3. Leading through dotted-line or in the matrix organization
4. Very good understanding of complex business processes and models of a global corporation
5. Very good written and spoken German and English, further language skills appreciated
6. Strong communication skills with negotiation skills and assertiveness
7. Reliable assessment and excellent problem-solving skills
8. Willingness to undertake domestic and international business trips
9. User expertise with regard to MS Office applications
