We are currently looking for an E&I Construction specialist to be based in Wesseling on a 5-month contract with a preference of a freelancer. This would be working on a brownfield chemical project.
The chosen individual be responsible for overseeing and managing all E&I construction activities on the project site. This includes ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation installations meet the project specifications, standards, and codes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Coordination:
o Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to plan and schedule E&I construction activities.
o Ensure that all work is carried out according to project schedules and deadlines.
2. Supervision and Management:
o Oversee the work of E&I contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that they adhere to project plans and specifications.
o Monitor the progress of E&I installations and ensure that work is completed to the required quality standards.
o Address any issues or challenges that arise on site, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
3. Safety and Compliance:
o Enforce safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
o Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on the construction site.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., electrical codes, health and safety regulations).
4. Quality Assurance:
o Inspect and verify the quality of E&I installations and materials used.
o Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities are completed satisfactorily.
o Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality assurance activities.
5. Technical Support:
o Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
o Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, specifications, and documents.
o Assist in resolving technical issues and discrepancies that arise during construction.
6. Communication and Reporting:
o Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
o Prepare and submit regular progress reports, highlighting any issues or delays.
o Participate in project meetings and provide updates on the status of E&I construction activities.
7. Resource Management:
o Ensure that all necessary tools, equipment, and materials are available on site.
o Manage the allocation and utilization of resources to optimize efficiency and productivity.
8. Documentation:
o Ensure that all E&I construction documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
o Maintain as-built drawings and ensure that any changes are documented and communicated to relevant parties.
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong background in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
* German speaking to a B1/B2 level
* Experience working on GE projects, working together with TUV for regulatory purposes
* Extensive experience in E&I construction supervision, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
* Excellent leadership and management skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in project management software and tools.
