The Structuring and Valuation team at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) plays a crucial role in providing quantitative support for trading and commercial asset optimiasation. We are involved in a wide range of commercial activities across various commodities and asset classes, spanning from power and industrial metals to renewable generation and batteries. Our responsibilities encompass data engineering, asset valuation, commercial optimisation, and the development of model-based trading strategies in energy commodity markets.
1. Supporting the development of commercial business cases for Renewables and Hydrogen asset portfolios (Wind, Solar), as well as for commodity contract portfolios including (e.g. gas and electricity options, spread options) for markets like US or Australia
2. Assisting in the development of financial valuation frameworks for these assets and contract portfolios
3. Involvement in the entire framework design process, including acquisition, data analytics, model selection and calibration, product valuation and management as well as the visualisation and communication of results
Your powerful skills
4. Currently pursuing a degree in mathematics, physics, natural sciences, IT or economics with a focus on finance
5. Strong analytical and mathematical skills are essential
6. Programming skills, preferably in R or Python and SQL
7. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a result-oriented team environment
8. Excellent command of spoken and written English
Advantageous, but not a must
9. Some practical experience with financial markets and/or familiarity with energy commodity markets
