Principal Scientist Cardiomyocyte Disease Modeling (all genders)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* You will conceptualize and guide the development of novel, complex cellular assays to model human diseases using stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes.
* You will proactively participate in scientific communities to enhance target understanding and contribute to the proposal and validation of new therapeutic targets.
* You will collaborate in cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to integrate expertise, develop innovative therapeutic approaches, and combine various technologies and data science methodologies.
* You will represent the Complex In Vitro Sub Cluster in early drug discovery teams to deliver critical experiments and data that enable projects to progress from early target validation to preclinical candidate selection.
* You will advance Complex In Vitro technologies, focusing on functional readouts and microscopy approaches while collaborating closely with data scientists to optimize analytical workflows.
* You will coach technical associates, research scientists, and peers, fostering knowledge transfer within the team.
WHO YOU ARE
* You hold a PhD in life sciences (e.g., biology, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering) with several years of post-graduate experience in a professional laboratory setting (Life Science Industry, Pharma, Biotech, or a profound academic background); industry experience is a plus.
* You have significant experience in 2D and 3D cardiac disease modeling, supported by high-impact publications in peer-reviewed journals; knowledge in cardiorenal biology is a plus.
* You possess a broad technological background, including expertise in functional characterization of cardiomyocytes (e.g., Maestro, Engineered Heart Tissue) and microscopy-related technologies (e.g., High Content Screening, 3D imaging); experience with assay miniaturization and lab automation is a plus.
* You utilize modern analytical approaches to support data-driven decision-making.
* You demonstrate high self-motivation with the ability to conceptualize and drive research projects.
* You have experience in drug discovery projects and an understanding of preclinical research; prior experience in leading cross-functional teams is a plus.
* You bring strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and thrive in a dynamic and agile environment.
* You are fluent in English.
