With Germany being the core of European automotive manufacturing, it's only natural it should also be a pioneer in scaling up battery cell manufacturing. At Northvolt, we are excited to make this happen, and we have recently announced that Heide, Schleswig-Holstein, will be the location of our German Battery Gigafactory. The factory will be built in multiple phases over 5+ years and represents a multi-billion Euro investment project. To enable this project, we are now looking for a dedicated and driven Senior Document Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.
About the job
A Senior Document Manager is responsible for managing and organizing company documents and records, as well as establishing and maintaining the underlying processes and tools. They ensure that internal and external documents are stored, maintained, and tracked in a manner that complies with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
About the team
You will be part of the Northvolt project team of about 40 employees that will have the overall responsibility of this mega project based in Heide, Germany.
About the work environment
The office is currently located in Hamburg with an outreach to Heide, Schleswig-Holstein, where the giga-factory will be built. Please don’t apply if you are not willing to move to site.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Document Management: Managing company documents and records, ensuring that they are accurate, complete, and up-to-date. The Senior Document Manager also ensures that the underlying processes and tools are maintained and in place to serve the actual and upcoming project phases.
* Document Control: Maintaining a document management system that ensures that documents are appropriately stored, tracked, and retrieved. This includes assigning document numbers, maintaining revision control, establishing and maintaining workflows, and managing document distribution.
* Quality Control: Ensuring that all documents meet the required quality standards and are in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
* Record Keeping: Ensuring maintenance of accurate records of all documents, including the document history, revisions, and approvals.
* Collaboration: Must work closely with other departments and personnel, including project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that document requirements are met. This includes external contractors and sub-contractors.
* Leadership: Leading a team of document controllers on Northvolt's side as well as the document controllers on contractors’ side. We expect to work with multiple contractors whose documents need to be managed in a consistent and effective manner, with effective and efficient workflows established between the parties.
In addition to these requirements, a Senior Document Manager in the Construction Industry must have strong attention to detail, be able to work under pressure, and have a strong commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. They should possess excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills and be able to lead and work effectively and efficiently in a team environment. They should be able to work collaboratively with the construction team to ensure project success.

We believe that you have:
* Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in document control in the construction industry, including relevant leadership experience.
* Extensive knowledge of document control procedures and systems, especially Omega 365.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software.

* Experience and interest in the construction and manufacturing industry.
