Our client, a leading player in the automotive industry, is searching for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to take ownership of information security strategy, governance, and operations across their international enterprise.
This is a high-impact leadership role based in Germany, where you will drive cyber resilience, risk management, and compliance within an innovative and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the global information security strategy for the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
* Develop and enhance the worldwide Information Security Management System (ISMS), defining policies, guidelines, and compliance measures.
* Oversee cyber resilience strategies, incident response, risk management processes, and business continuity planning.
* Provide strategic guidance and support to business units and IT teams on cybersecurity issues.
* Identify and assess emerging threats, technologies, and security trends, integrating threat intelligence into proactive defense measures.
* Drive the development and implementation of cybersecurity architecture, ensuring new security measures and technologies are effectively adopted.
* Conduct risk assessments, audits, and security certifications (e.g., TISAX, NIS2) to maintain compliance and enhance security posture.
* Manage and evaluate external service providers and cybersecurity vendors to ensure optimal performance and alignment with security objectives.
* Lead security awareness training initiatives, empowering internal teams with best practices and cyber hygiene education.
* Represent the organization in industry forums and regulatory bodies (e.g., VDA, Evanta Governing Body) to influence and shape security standards.
* Oversee the Security Operations Center (SOC) and drive incident response to mitigate security breaches efficiently.
* Global team leadership, including budget management and indirect leadership of local security teams.
* Provide regular reporting to the executive board, driving continuous improvement in cybersecurity resilience and governance.
Your Profile:
* Proven experience as a CISO or senior cybersecurity leader in an OEM, automotive, or manufacturing environment.
* Strong expertise in ISMS development, cyber resilience, risk management, and security compliance (TISAX, NIS2, ISO 27001, etc.).
* Deep understanding of cyber threats, security architectures, incident response, and SOC management.
* Strategic mindset with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to senior leadership and stakeholders.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing global teams and security budgets.
* Fluent in English, German language skills are a plus.
