In your new role, you will steer research teams as a project leader in an international environment.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* As a project leader in Medicinal Chemistry for Animal Health Therapeutics and/or Antiparasitics, you will co-lead several interdisciplinary, highly collaborative global research teams working to advance veterinary drug discovery projects towards development candidates.
* Your daily tasks will include the analysis of data sets, selection of compounds for screening, in addition to design, prioritization, and synthesis of biologically active molecules.
* Furthermore, you will provide scientific support and technical training for laboratory scientists.
* With your expertise, you will foster team science internally across global sites in Animal Health and Human Pharma, and potentially with external partners.
* In addition, you will present research findings, project updates, and strategy to internal stakeholders and external collaborators.
Requirements
* Doctoral degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related fields with several years of industrial experience in drug discovery
* Expert knowledge of synthetic chemistry
* Expertise in medicinal chemistry and other disciplines related to drug discovery
* Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented, while also able to maintain strategic oversight of projects
* Proven leadership skills as a project leader or line manager
* Team-oriented and collegial attitude with excellent communication skills
* Excelling in highly dynamic environments and eager to take on new challenges
* Proficient oral and written communication skills in English as well as willingness to adopt a basic command of the German language
