We’re looking for a Program Manager P2H reporting to the Head of Commercial Asset Management to lead a project team of experts from Origination (Commodity Solutions)and Commercial Structuring, Project Engineering, & Execution (Commercial Asset Management, Technology & Commercial Asset Optimisation CE) in Germany and the Netherlands.
In this role, you will lead the development of our sustainable and scalable P2H business, with focus on e-boiler and heat pump projects – covering asset developments as well as providing commercial services to 3rd party assets. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and ensure technical, commercial and regulatory alignment.
About the role
* Lead and guide a project team of commercial developers, originators, portfolio managers and technical experts from various departments, supporting all phases of P2H projects, from opportunity scouting and development up to FID as well as M&A activities or contract negotiation.
* Ensure a co-ordinated market, respectively customer, approach.
* Develop new P2H business models to enhance commercial success.
* Make key decisions on optimal project design from a techno-economic perspective, ensuring cost-efficiency and value generation.
* Support the integration of P2H into RWEST’s trading environment and drive commercial optimisation post-operation.
* Analyse regulatory changes and assess their impact on RWE’s PtH business, providing input to RWE’s lobbying efforts.
* Initiate and support continuous optimisation initiatives for P2H systems, driving performance improvement and scalability.
Job requirements and experience
* University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Energy Economics, Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in business development, in particular in setting up new scalable businesses.
* Deep knowledge of Energy markets and (German and NL) regulatory frameworks.
* Good analytical skills with the ability to present complex cases clearly and concisely.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and opcos of a wider group and with external partners.
* Strive for transparency and collaboration with integrity, openness, willingness for change and trust.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead project teams of highly professional individuals from various departments, taking everyone along to deliver ‘your’ projects.
* Proven ability to make informed decisions, balancing commercial, technical, and strategic factors, and to effectively guide the project team in implementing these decisions.
* Ability to “take a step back” and adjust project team direction to ensure strategic alignment.
* Fluent in both German and English.
* Willingness to travel for business purposes.
Advantageous, but not essential
* Experience within the heat or renewable energy sector.
* Experience or knowledge in P2H.
* Initial experience in personnel management.
* Proficiency in the Dutch language.
