About the role...
The Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences within the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences is seeking a leading academic to join its team as Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor of Psychological Methods (Quantitative Assessment of Human Behaviour).
The successful candidate is expected to advance our understanding and fostering of human thinking in a theory-driven and psychologically informed way.
The candidate will focus on the domain of innovative data analysis methods using artificial intelligence and machine-learning.
The candidate will have expertise and a strong track record in cognitive psychology, with a particular focus on the quantitative assessment of human behaviour and will also have:
* Expertise in experimental psychology and/or secondary data analysis
* Mentoring and management experience
* Interdisciplinary orientation
* Experience with public outreach
* Visibility in the scientific community
* Dedication to the principles of transparent and open science
Teaching areas:
The successful candidate is expected to teach in all study programmes offered in the Department: Bachelor in Psychology (BAP), Master in Psychology: Psychological intervention (MPI), Master in Psychology: Evaluation and Assessment (MAPEA), as well as in the Doctoral School in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Interdisciplinary contributions will also be made to the Master in Data Science and the Master in Cybersecurity.
Furthermore, the candidate will develop specific courses on data processing and analysis using artificial intelligence and machine learning in the MPI and in the MAPEA as well as in the Doctoral School.
The candidate will also teach classes on experimental and/or statistical methodology at the doctoral level.

* Ph.D. in Psychology or Cognitive Science (with specialization in quantitative methods or related fields)
* A minimum of three years of post-doctoral experience acquired in a university or comparable research centre or equivalent
* An appropriate international research profile as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference participation, and collaboration in international research initiatives
* Demonstrated capability to attract competitive third-party research funding
* University-level teaching experience at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level
* Willingness to engage in teamwork in teaching and research groups
* Ability to work autonomously

General information:
* Contract Type: Fixed-term contract - 5 years (tenure track), with a perspective of a permanent position and promotion to Associate Professor upon positive evaluation. In the case of an excellent, more senior candidate, a direct appointment at the level of Associate Professor with a permanent contract may be considered.
