Post-doc/scientist Cell- and Tissue Technologies

At the Fraunhofer Instituteof Interfacial and Biochemical Engineering IGB, we combine biologyand technology in our business areas Health, Sustainable Chemistry,and Environmental and Climate protection. We develop processes,technologies and products that enable the industrial application ofnew solutions for patient-centred healthcare, a sustainablebioeconomy as well as a climate-neutral and resource-efficientcircular economy. At our locations in Stuttgart, Leuna, Straubing,and Biberach we carry out research in close collaboration withnumerous universities in Germany and abroad.
The department of Cell and Tissue Technologies is locatedin the main institute in Stuttgart and focuses on animal-free invitro test alternatives. The New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), forthe preclinical testing of efficacy and toxicity of substances, hasenormous potential for applied research. The department has beenworking in the field of cell and molecular biology for more than 25years and has extensive expertise in the genetic modification ofcells and the development of genetically modified cell lines aswell as in the establishment of complex tissues e.g., human invitro skin models. The department's portfolio includes its own andpatented 2D in vitro test and screening systems as well as variousskin models and disease models of the skin. Of course, thedepartment is also involved in the differentiation of organoidsfrom hiPSC and the establishment of different spheroids.
The position is aimed at people with professionalexperience in research and development who are interested incontributing to the further successful development of thedepartment in a scientifically excellent and great team and workingin a highly specialized environment under excellent conditions inan area with great challenges and excellent future prospects. ✓ Planning, coordination and support ofresearch projects in the field of Cell and Tissue technologies witha focus on practical and market-oriented solutions ✓ Strongacquisition of industrial and public funding ✓ Transfer ofknowledge and results for the practical use of research results ✓Establishing and maintaining collaborations with industrialplayers, companies, scientific partners and public institutions
What you bring to the table
✓University degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmaceuticalbiotechnology / molecular biotechnology or related fields ✓ Acompleted PhD in a relevant research area and/or an internationallyvisible scientific excellence ✓ In-depth knowledge and skills in(stem)cell and tissue technology e.g., organoids, molecularbiotechnology ✓ Professional experience in leading projects orteams, preferably in applied research or industry ✓ Strongexperience and interest in project acquisition and implementationof research and development projects with national andinternational partners with a particular focus on industrialcooperation ✓ A high degree of initiative and personalresponsibility ✓ Very good knowledge of written and spoken Germanand English

The weekly working time is 39 hours. Thisposition is also available on a part-time basis.
