They will need to understand the business and product goals and guide the teams during the implementation from a holistic point of view. There is the need to constantly stay up to date with the latest technology trends in the relevant fields to make future-proof decisions. The system architect will use a very structured and methodological approach to compare different options and objectify the decisions made. They have a balancing role between the interests of different teams and stakeholders and lead the teams of component experts discussing design options. They will introduce proper tooling and processes to assure process quality during the design work. Your mission: Lead and guide the different Talpa component architects and developers to create a consistent and well-aligned overall system architecture Understand future business, customer and product requirements and derive respective technological and architectural implications Create and implement proper processes for architectural documentation, planning and change management Be the owner of the technology & architecture roadmap Support training and upskilling of developers and other experts Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and incorporate respective insights into the technology roadmap Balance activities like discovery/innovation; features development and resolution of technical dept Balance the interests of the different stakeholders and moderate respective discussions Your profile: Firm methodology skillset relating to system architecture and design, particularly regarding software development (comprising e.g. requirement management, system modelling, diagramming & documentation, and structured design decisions) Knowledge of respective models and approaches, e.g. architectural design patterns, frameworks & styles like microservices, layered architecture, event-driven architecture General knowledge of current languages and tech stacks for conducting discussions with developers and other experts (for Talpa, anything relating to IoT, big data as well as ML/AI is a big plus) Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and their architectural principles, as containerization and orchestration tools (like Docker & Kubernetes), database systems (SQL, NoSQL, graph databases) as well as data integration, ETL, and data pipelines Understanding of cybersecurity and secure coding principles Strong soft skills in communication, leadership, problem solving and negotiation Nice to have: Experience in edge computing and embedded software Experience in Project and workflow management (classical, hybrid, agile) Knowledge of innovation and creativity methods Knowledge of quality and related standards (e.g. ISO27001) Experience in data analysis and data science Knowledge of UX/UI and lean start-up Having worked in the fields of heavy industry/equipment, vehicle data transfer/bus systems/ logging/telemetry, equipment as a service and other domains relating to TALPA's business Why us?
