Symrise, a leading provider of ingredients for personal care products, is seeking a dynamic individual to join us as Global Product Manager for Product Protection, to replace an employee leaving for a few months.
This role will allow you to develop your expertise in product management, business development, and market analysis to drive growth and innovation in our Micro Protection Business Unit within the Cosmetic Ingredients Division.
The position is located at our headquarter in Holzminden, Germany - 1 year contract, starting as of April 1st 2025.
Your role
As a Global Product Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic development and growth ofa range of cosmetic ingredients, in alignment with the overall Category strategy. As such, you:
1. play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the ingredients portfolio by translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and monitoring performance metrics.
2. launch new products, drives profitability, ensures compliance with global regulations.
3. are responsible for navigating legal and intellectual property landscapes, ensuring the company's products are protected and competitive.
The role requires managing product life-cycles, from sourcing and development to production and marketing. The product manager also oversees the creation of promotional materials and defines communication strategies for the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Understand the market needs and scout new ideas/technologies related to your product portfolio
5. Monitor your product range: positioning, sales data and customers feedback, cost of good, technical information, communication tools, competition
6. Actively participate to the process of New Product Development (NPD) as business partner
7. Support Sales teams and customers
8. Ensure compliance with regulations
9. Monitor, defend and maintain IP ingredients position
What about you?
You hold a master’s degree in science, Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences, with a desirable background in marketing. Few years' experience in the cosmetics industry, including successful years in product management of cosmetic ingredients is preferred.
You demonstrate exceptional project management skills. You exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills in English and are adept at collaborating with diverse teams. An understanding of the global landscape of cosmetic preservatives is advantageous, but not mandatory. Above all, you embody a collaborative, team-player mindset essential for success in this role.
