At Sioux Technologies it’s all about making the pieces of the puzzle fit together. We can’t do that without you, a driven Designer Mechanics.
Sioux develops and produces state-of-the-art technology for the top end of the international high-tech community. Examples include a complex lithography machine, a compact electron microscope, a smart home automation system, or an electric self-charging car. We raise the bar high and we often achieve the impossible. We do so together, as a team of enthusiastic electronics, software, mechanics, mechatronics, and mathematics specialists.
Our Position
As a Designer Mechanics, you will have a demanding role where you will be heavily involved in generating innovative concepts and solutions in the field of (precision) mechanics. You are a sparring partner to the Architect(s) and you take ownership in translating specifications into innovative concepts and design solutions in the Mechanics domain.
You will perform the required (hand) calculations and tolerance analysis. You define critical-to-quality dimensions and will visualize these concepts and designs in 3D. Working alongside the Architects, System Designers, fellow Designers, and Engineers, you will contribute to the overall development of the product.
Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that the designed products meet customer needs, are manufacturable, and can be assembled, tested, and serviced efficiently, all at optimal integral costs. Additionally, you will collaborate with suppliers to align on manufacturability, availability of components, and the use of vendor components.

* Creativity and skill in finding design solutions based on multidisciplinary requirements and concepts.
* Excellent knowledge and experience with Design for Excellence (DFX: cost, manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, etc).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to support other Engineers and more junior Designers.
