Postdoc position (m/f/d)
Project:
Chronic inflammatory skin diseases (CISD) are prevalent in the population and do not only reduce quality of life of affected patients, but also challenge modern health care systems due to high treatment costs. Our lab is interested in revising the ancient classification of CISD by using molecular deciphering of skin inflammation and by identifying new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for more efficient treatments. A further interest is to study mechanisms of disease chronification. We are looking for a highly motivated PostDoc (m/f/d) that enjoys working in a translational research environment and in multidisciplinary consortia.
We offer:
* a motivated, inter-disciplinary team of clinicians, scientists, and bioinformaticians
* state-of-the-art methods and broad range of core facilities
* a network of collaborating research groups in Freiburg and internationally
* continuous education and training programs
Required skills:
* a Ph.D. in biology or related field with an excellent publication record
* solid experience in state-of-the-art molecular biology (next generation sequencing, CRISPR/Cas9)
* experience in working with primary human cells and cell lines (isolation, cultivation, stimulation, 3D cultures)
* experience on project management (scheduling, deliverables, reporting)
* creative innovative thinking
* intrinsic motivation, high precision of work and the ability to conduct independent research
* interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment
* proven English presenting and writing skills
The position is initially limited to 2 years.
