We looking for a Junior Video Editor (All genders welcome!) to join our team in Munich!
Junior Video Editors support the entire post-production operation by being the first set of eyes and hands on media after production. Junior Video Editors work primarily on social first formats for various editorial social teams and play a critical role in ensuring the needed output is being met. Doing translations from English to German and incorporating subtitles into the edits is a key component of the job. People in this role are quick thinkers, problem solvers, team oriented, and incredibly meticulous and organized. Junior Video Editors work closely with the larger group of internal and external editors, the CNE Social Media and production teams and report to the Head of Video in Munich.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Edit social-first video formats for various editorial social teams, ensuring content aligns with brand guidelines and audience expectations.
2. Translate English-language videos into German, incorporating accurate subtitles and ensuring cultural and linguistic nuances are maintained.
3. Collect and organize media assets from Production & Social teams, ensuring all files are properly labeled, tagged, and stored.
4. Import and prepare all project assets in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other post-production software.
5. Assemble rough cuts, apply basic color correction, and adjust audio levels for consistency and clarity.
6. Implement feedback from the Head of Video and editorial teams to refine edits and enhance storytelling.
7. Assist in quality control by reviewing media, flagging production issues, and ensuring final videos meet platform specifications.
8. Export and deliver final edits in various formats optimized for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.
9. Maintain project organization and workflow efficiency by using proper naming conventions, templates, and folder structures.
10. Occasionally assist with sourcing additional assets (e.g., archive footage, brand elements) and integrating them into edits.
11. Stay up to date with social media video trends and suggest creative approaches to enhance content performance.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
12. Minimum 2 years of post-production experience including work as an Assistant Editor, preferably with digital content
13. Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite and MAM / other post-production technologies and software like DaVinci Resolve
14. Strong commitment to thoroughness and detail as well as an aptitude for organizing and labeling media content for a Post Production facility
15. Must be extremely knowledgeable with technology including comprehensive understanding of media codecs, bit rates, aspect ratios, color spaces, compression, and finishing processes (color/mix prep/conform/QC/delivery)
16. Proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite required
17. Proficient knowledge of the main broadcast and digital video and audio formats
18. Work independently and with teams, able to decipher problems and create solutions; able to complete tasks with minimal guidance if necessary
19. Adept at determining priorities and able to hit deadlines under pressure; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
20. Must exhibit strong written and verbal skills in German and English.
