Step into the dynamic world of container Linux development with our Garden Linux team! Garden Linux, as SAP’s tailored and hardened container Linux, is the Linux of choice for Gardener. As the Development Manager of that team, you'll be at the heart of managing the development team of Linux experts with a high level of commitment and excellence in our cutting-edge, cloud-native open-source project “Garden Linux”.

The Role:
As a Development Manager for the “Garden Linux” Team, you will:
1. lead the newly formed Garden Linux development team based on broad technical knowledge of Linux as well as excellent people management skills
2. collaborate with SAP stakeholder teams and ORA community members to guarantee cloud-ready quality, stability and security of Garden Linux.
3. continuously improve Garden Linux security, compliance, quality and delivery processes to increase efficiency and reliability, with a focus on process automation wherever feasible.
4. foster personal development and growth of our diverse team members
5. represent Garden Linux in SAP events and open-source community meet-ups
What you bring
6. Several years of experience as development manager of highly skilled technical developers or similar role and environment (e.g., project lead)
7. Profound understanding of Linux operating system concepts and container technologies.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, analyze and resolve quality and people issues.
9. Understanding of software development processes and the software development lifecycle.
10. A curious mindset and willingness to explore new paths and challenge existing processes.
11. Knowledge of Kubernetes and its architecture is a plus, but not a must!
12. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
13. Fluency both written and spoken in English, and preferably in German.
