We are currently engaged with our client to hire a cable package manager to lead the cable design and quality inspection for HVDC cables for the development of a large HVDC project. This position is a full-time hybrid role based in Germany, working across any of our client's offices. Key Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects related to DC cable system from Design, Type test, and Production until commissioning. Overlooking a scope of onshore and offshore cable systems, with a budget of €500 million. Leading a team of engineers and sub-package managers. Technical review of reports, design, and system studies supplied by contractors and third parties to assess suitable design. Monitor and track supply chain partner's compliance with contractual obligations for the cable package works. Coordinate cable and accessory quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the HV cable supply chain. Contribute to identifying and managing risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans. Interface coordination with other departments/suppliers to ensure optimised scope definition between packages and satisfactory work performance. Actively contribute to knowledge and information sharing within the engineering functional unit. Your Background B.Sc or M.Sc in Electrical Engineering. Several years of experience in cables and cable design, familiarity with high voltage (>100kV) land and marine cable systems. Experience with voltage >200kV and HVDC cables/accessories an advantage. Both practical and theoretical experience with cable design, manufacture, and/or installation. Experience in developing technologies from concept to commercial availability. Familiar with renewable energy technologies, preferably on- and offshore wind. Good English and good German language skills. Willingness to travel and work offshore. A high degree of self-motivation with a flexible approach to work.
