Job Description: Details of the role and how it fits into the team Asset Quality Review (AQR) is an independent key control function with high importance in the regulatory environment. AQR is set up globally with main locations in Frankfurt, Berlin, Mumbai and New York. The team consists of credit analysts with broad and diverse sets of skills and experiences. In conducting reviews, AQR assesses credit ratings / consistent application of rating systems, portfolio quality, credit standards and quality of risk management. The position is within the AQR Berlin team with focus on counterparty reviews in the Distressed Credit Lifecycle including various portfolios, e.g. Corporates and Financial Institutions, German and European MidCaps, (Commercial) Real Estate, Leveraged Lending, Wealth Management. Your key responsibilities Lead / participate in asset quality reviews assessing individual exposures of high complexity / ratings / models as well as credit process elements regarding Distressed Credit Lifecycle cases in the portfolios mentioned above As review team leader co-ordinate review team, lead detailed and challenging discussions, review and opine on all team members work assuring completeness and accuracy, provide concise review reports to Senior Management Focus will be on the assessment of individual exposures / ratings, as well as credit process elements, i.e. non-standardized preparation of concise review sheets summarizing the assessment and recommendations, independent discussion of review results with rating analysts / credit officers only in conflict cases escalation to the leader of the review team Participation in CRM's watchlist / portfolio meetings, opportunities to participate in other AQR Offices' reviews Act as a liaison with management members and colleagues within various CRO departments, Finance and partially Business Your skills and experiences Graduate, at least undergraduate degree in a business related field Sound credit background with several years of experience either from banking industry, rating agencies or public accounting firms or some combination thereof, sound analytical skills, strong knowledge of credit risk analysis (incl. assessment of complex customer groups, structures and products), rating approaches and related processes Ability to independently review (incl. critically question) CRM credit decisions / rating analyses as well as independent assessment of reviewed portfolios/individual exposures Excellent verbal and written language skills in German and English (good command of a further business relevant language would be welcomed), solid team player and good communicator Good time management skills: ability to meet firm deadlines, flexibility to deal with various responsibilities What we offer We provide you with a comprehensive portfolio of benefits and offerings to support both, your private and professional needs.
