Your Responsibilities As a Risk Validation Specialist in the risk controlling team, you will play a key role in independently validating risk models to ensure their accuracy, robustness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will assess model assumptions, methodologies, and performance, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements. Working closely with model developers, risk managers, and external consultants, you will ensure that our risk management framework remains effective and aligned with regulatory standards. Your work will directly support the bank’s financial stability and long-term objectives. Key responsibilities for this role includes: Validate Risk Models: You will independently assess credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk models, ensuring their accuracy and compliance. Enhance Risk Frameworks: You will identify weaknesses in models, provide actionable recommendations, and support continuous improvements. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: You will stay updated on regulatory expectations and ensure adherence to Basel III, IFRS 9, and other guidelines. Collaborate with Stakeholders: You will work closely with model developers, risk managers, and other stakeholders while maintaining independence and objectivity. Perform Technical Analysis: You will apply statistical techniques and use programming tools (Python, R, SQL) to analyze and validate risk models. Your Profile Education & Experience: A degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline. 2–5 years of experience in risk model validation, model development, or a related role within banking, finance, or consulting. Familiarity with credit risk, market risk, operational risk, or liquidity risk models is highly desirable. Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong knowledge of statistical and quantitative modeling techniques, as well as risk validation frameworks. Proficiency in programming and data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar. Ability to critically assess model assumptions, methodologies, and performance metrics. A methodical and detail-oriented approach to identifying weaknesses and implementing improvements. Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: A thorough understanding of regulatory expectations and risk management practices in the banking sector. Knowledge of Basel's regulatory frameworks on Model Validation, including CRR. Soft Skills & Work Ethic: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders. Ability to present validation findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
