In its capacity as Depositary bank for alternative investment funds (AIFs) Banque Internationale à Luxembourg SA (BIL) provides investor protection, through overseeing the general administration of the funds, the safekeeping of the fund's assets, the ownership verification and record keeping of other assets as well as the monitoring of the cash flows. Your role is to ensure that all depositary duties and obligations are performed in accordance with the applicable regulation.
Your next challenge:
* As part of the AIF Depositary team you will be responsible for safekeeping and verifying the ownership of the AIFs assets, monitor cash flow activities and perform oversight controls.
* You will need to ensure that the procedures and controls comply with the applicable laws and keep up to date with legislation, professional standards and regulatory changes.
* You will perform due diligences on fund service providers and be involved in on-site inspections.
* Attending periodic client service meetings will also be part of your activities.
* You will maintain and enhance depositary procedures, review programs and checklists.
Your skills:
* At least 7 years in the (Luxembourgish) fund industry
* University degree (finance, business administration, audit, legal)
* Bac +3 / 5 or equivalent professional experience
* Fluent in English, written and spoken, and ideally French and/or German. Any other language is considered an advantage
* Extensive knowledge of:
1. Banks' organisations and activities, workflows, operational risk management processes / tools and challenges,
2. Financial products and services such as cash / treasury management, securities (transactions, safekeeping, …), financing and capital markets solutions.
* Microsoft Office
* Excellent knowledge of:
1. The AIFMD as well as the legal and regulatory framework of Luxembourg investment fund vehicles and industry best practice.
2. The role and responsibilities of a Depositary bank
3. The ins and outs of alternative asset classes such as Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate and Infrastructure.
4. Operational risk assessment and monitoring, enhancement of processes and procedures.
5. The drivers of the European fund industry.

* Strong analytical skills as well as conceptual and strategic thinking.
* Self-organized way of working by delivering high quality results in time with a good sense of prioritization.
* Accurate, flexible, hands-on, and delivering the best work when facing tight deadlines.
* At least 7 years in the banking / financial industry.
* Qualifications such as an experience in the AIF depositary function, especially ideally also in investment restrictions controls, and certifications in audit / control / risk management are considered advantages.
