Justification
The Product Manager -- WMS leads the adoption, enhancement, and optimization of the Warehouse Management System, acting as the key liaison between our organization, external WMS vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the system aligns with operational goals, enhances performance, and delivers value to the organization and its customers.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of warehouse operations, third-party WMS platforms, and is adept at managing vendor relationships while driving system improvements to meet business needs.
May lead teams and/or projects with broad visibility and impact.
Responsibilities
To date, Autodoc has been using and developing an inhouse WMS. With the growth of the business, volume and geography wise, the level of complexity of the warehouse processes grew and a strategic decision has been taken to implement a leading market WMS. This requires adoption of the selected market WMS in terms of operational processes, functional design, integration (ERP, WCS, other operational system), reporting and KPI.
The Product Manager – WMS is expected to drive the agenda of the WMS Product as per follows:
Product Strategy and Roadmap:
* Develop and maintain a clear product strategy and roadmap for the use of third-party WMS in alignment with business objectives.
* Identify opportunities to leverage the WMS to optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Collaborate with warehouse teams, logistics, IT, and operations to gather and prioritize system requirements.
* Ensure that system configurations and workflows meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
Vendor Management and Collaboration:
* Partner with third-party WMS vendors to define product enhancements, resolve system issues, and ensure seamless integration with internal systems.
* Act as the primary point of contact for vendor discussions, including feature requests, issue escalation, and contractual alignment.
Performance Monitoring:
* In cooperation with Operations and Functional Unit Leads, define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure both operational solution performance and the success of WMS enhancements, and ensure continuous improvement.
* Analyze system data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
System Optimization:
* Lead efforts to configure, customize, and optimize the third-party WMS for maximum operational efficiency and scalability.
* Identify and implement enhancements to improve system performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
Integration and Data Management:
* Ensure seamless integration between the third-party WMS and other business systems (e.g., ERP, WCS, TMS).
* Oversee data accuracy and consistency within the WMS to enable efficient reporting and decision-making.
Training and Support:
* Develop training materials and provide support to warehouse teams and other users to ensure effective system utilization.
* Coordinate with vendors for timely resolution of support tickets and system issues.
Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in Supply Chain / Logistics industry with focus on WMS.
* Experience in working with a market leading WMS (JDA, Manh, Reply), practical knowledge of LEA Reply WMS is a plus.
* Working in e-commerce environment with focus on supply chain, warehouse operations.
* Design and implementation of complex solutions with high-end Warehouse Automation (shuttle systems, robotics, pick-by-light).
* Experience in successfully communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders management, – consultants, suppliers, partners, as well as internal stakeholders – technical team members, product users.
