Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations our client is a global leader in renewable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving the company’s financial performance and growth while ensuring compliance, transparency, and alignment with our mission to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future.
This role requires a seasoned financial professional with a proven track record of managing complex financial systems within an international and fast-paced environment. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and the executive leadership team to shape and implement the company’s financial strategy, ensuring the business remains resilient, innovative, and competitive in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy and Leadership
* Develop and present comprehensive financial strategies and tax planning recommendations to the CEO and executive team, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term objectives.
* Drive strategic financial initiatives, including capital allocation, risk management, and investment strategies to support growth in renewable energy projects and technologies.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to assess and prioritize opportunities for expansion, innovation, and operational efficiency.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis
* Lead the company’s financial planning and analysis efforts, providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
* Design and implement robust forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes to track performance against strategic goals.
* Monitor key financial metrics and provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
3. Cash Flow, Audits, and Compliance
* Oversee cash flow management, ensuring optimal working capital levels to support ongoing operations and new project developments.
* Manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards across all jurisdictions.
* Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and enhance operational efficiency.
4. Financial Reporting and Communication
* Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with international accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
* Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively to both financial and non-financial audiences.
5. Bank Relationships and Financing
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors to support the company’s funding needs and strategic objectives.
* Negotiate and manage financing arrangements, including debt and equity structures, to optimize the company’s capital structure.
* Oversee financial risk management activities, including currency and interest rate hedging.
6. Team Leadership and Development
* Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
* 7–10 years of experience in senior finance roles, preferably within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to align financial strategy with business objectives.
* Expertise in international financial regulations, tax compliance, and reporting standards (e.g., IFRS).
* Proven experience in managing complex financial systems, audits, and large-scale budgets.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
* Proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
* Candidate must speak fluent German & English. Any other language is a bonus.
