Purpose of the position
We are looking for a parental leave replacement in our Group Packaging Competence Team as Group Packaging Expert Flexible (m/f/d) in Düsseldorf (contract time: 2 years).
As part of our group-wide team, you will be responsible for developing modern, future-oriented packaging materials that are characterized by sustainability, resource conservation and efficiency. This includes the development of both flexible packaging materials, along with the further development of existing technologies and processes.
You will work closely with colleagues from Group Packaging, Regional Packaging Teams from all over Europe, Marketing, Sustainability Team and Group Procurement to create new business opportunities and develop new packaging solutions.
Main Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the flexible packaging category with focus on development, implementation, and management of our international flexible packaging strategy
2. Identifying current or potential risks and opportunities for improvement (standardization, harmonization, and simplification) in our packaging portfolio
3. Leading flexible packaging projects and defining measures to achieve targets
4. Managing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting on flexible packaging initiatives, taking into account total cost of ownership, in close partnership with our stakeholders
5. Drive sustainability projects to reduce packaging material weight and waste and improve integrity to fulfil Intersnack Group requirements
6. Master's degree specialising in packaging technology or comparable technical expertise
7. 4 years of relevant professional experience in the packaging sector, ideally in the development and implementation of new flexible packaging or flexible packaging materials
8. In-depth understanding/practical experience in the processing area and packaging processes of flexible packaging, ideally in food production
9. Experience in portfolio analysis and development of standards
10. Knowledge of project management methods in practical application as well proven ability to lead complex projects in multinational organisation
11. Flexible, independent team player with a positive attitude and willingness to step in and provide support as needed
12. Fluent business English (written/spoken) is mandatory, and German is an advantage
13. Domestic and international travel up to 50% of the time is possible
