Hauptaufgaben
Translates from German into English and vice versa, technical and administrative material related to all aspects of Facilities Engineering operations, and coordination with local German authorities. The translations required cover diversified functions, (many fields of engineering) which requires knowledge and application of a manifold vocabulary. Performs subject matter research and analysis to be familiar with specific terms, in order to understand and portray shades of meanings accurately. Performs as interpreter between German and English speaking parties during meetings and as required.
Processes requests for installation access for local national employees and contractors sponsored by the Directorate (approximately 1,100 per year. Reviews all required documents for program compliance, develops request package for signature of the Technical Director or representative and forwards requests, with all supporting relevant background and contractual documents for processing at the Garrison Installation Access Control System (IACS) Office. Prepares and processes requests for Common Access Cards (CAC) for local national employees.
Receives visitors and phone calls and directs to staff members only those contacts needing their attention or action. Takes care of routine matters and on the basis of knowledge of programs and operations, refers others to the appropriate point of contact for action. Arranges conferences and meetings for staff members. Maintains the calendar for the Chief Engineering. Serves as Training Coordinator. Assures all personnel are aware of mandatory and available training courses and schedules. Assists in completing and submitting necessary paperwork for training in non-government facilities and under Army Correspondence Courses Program. Disseminates training documents such as DD form 1556. Forwards completed training course documents to CPOC for inclusion to the OPF. Utilizes office automation equipment to create documents, reports, charts, and to communicate/relate information to organizational elements. Reviews all documentation for correct format and grammar that require the chief's signature or that are forwarded to other organizational elements or higher headquarters. Maintains and operates an archive of all contractual and project documentation files Coordinates actions with the DPW Operations & Maintenance, Master Planning and Real Property Divisions. Maintains and operates several databases, i.e. PRA, Project Database, GFEBS (cProjects). Requests project data from pertaining agencies and updates databases accordingly on a regular basis. Prepares and initiates funding documents (i.e. PR&Cs & MIPRs) to send funds to contracting agencies upon coordination with DRM, BOID and project managers. Prepares OT requests, travel orders, personnel requests, time and attendance reports, photo permits, awards, reference letters, meeting minutes, SOPs, presentations and other required reports. Maintains the Engineering suspense listing. Assigns tasks to appropriate offices, establishes internal suspense dates, tracks those tasks, determines when extensions are appropriate and either grants extensions within the Chief Engineering's authority, or justifies them to external offices. Ensures that responses (correspondence, charts, point papers, e-mails, etc.) to suspense's are responsive, timely, and prepared correctly. A qualified typist is required.

E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II: 1 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below. E&T Level II: 1 Jahr anrechenbare Erfahrung wie beschrieben unter A, PLUS 2 Jahre wie beschrieben unter B.
E&T Level IV: No additional experience required.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled. The amount of the higher level experience must be in a reasonable relation to the required total number of years.

*Driver's license class B is desired.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency Level AND German Language Proficiency Level C2 required.
