Our strategy is to guarantee opportunities in the scrap market to both establish ArcelorMittal as an important player in the metal recycling space while securing access to the required volumes of scrap underpinning our decarbonization strategy. Mission: The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) for Recycling Business will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the business as well as Health & Safety, reporting to the CEO BD Recycling and being member of the BD Management Committee. This includes developing and implementing recycling processes, managing technical teams & safety coordinator, and review of equipment in use, preparation of technical files to support equipment purchasing, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, developing greenfield projects from technical & environmental aspects. In a nutshell, he/she is tasked with managing the technical aspects of an organisation to ensure that they are in line with the Company's growth targets; also manages technical resources and ensure they are geared towards technological development. Main responsibilities: As CTO within Business Divisions Recycling, you will be responsible for: Developing and implementing effective recycling processes that ensure the company meets its goals of sustainability and resource recovery; Managing a technical team and ensuring they have the necessary resources to carry out their work effectively. This will involve hiring and training staff, setting goals and objectives, and monitoring progress; Ensuring that the business is in compliance with relevant regulations related to recycling and waste management. This will cover keeping up-to-date with changes in regulations, monitoring compliance, and implementing necessary changes ; consulting local businesses on developing and maintaining technical standards. This will include developing guidelines and procedures for recycling processes, as well as ensuring that equipment and machinery meet necessary standards in close collaboration with local management teams Identifying new technologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of recycling processes. This will involve researching and testing new technologies, as well as working with technical teams to implement them. Developing and managing budgets for the technical aspects of the business. This means forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, and making necessary adjustments to ensure the business remains financially viable.
