Summary About the Position: Serve as a Visual Information Specialist in a 7th Army Training Support Center. Provides multimedia/visual information services to tenant, rotational, and authorized customers at installation for Army C4IM baseline and above baseline services utilizing computer graphics, photography, video imaging, multimedia, audio visual equipment, and digital output equipment. Responsibilities Produce visual information products for reimbursable work. Utilize artistic skills plans to produce a wide variety of technical VI requirements in various forms. Select visual information material using the most cost-effective method to best portray the subject matter and meet the requirement. Enhance instruction or presentations through the use of related visual information graphic, photo, and/or digital video products. Advise clients on the best methods of portraying information through a variety of media products or processes. Advise customers by suggesting approaches for achieving most effective training presentations. Take photographs and video of items such as construction, geographical areas, flight operations, training exercises, and/or other official requirements for a variety of end purposes. Compose, light, record, process, and/or print photographs and video for a variety of end purposes. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other artwork, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Assisting in the visual aspects of publications, exhibits, and/or presentations for public information AND (2) Researching technical guidance for visual presentations. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
