Data Governance and FAIR Data Lead/Manger (Remote – Europe) - Pharmaceutical/Biotech
Dna Life Sciences is partnered with a well established, Global consultancy firm specialising in providing expert support to companies in the life sciences industry, including pharmaceuticals, biotech who are currently seeking a Data Governance and FAIR Data Manager to lead the development and implementation of robust data governance practices while ensuring compliance with the FAIR data principles: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimisation and stewardship of data across the organization, promoting accessibility and innovation.
This is a remote position, but applicants must be based in Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Poland, Austia or Croatia.
*This role requires prior experience in data governance implementation within a pharmaceutical environment, along with previous management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive the implementation of data governance frameworks to enable a data-driven culture across R&D, quality, and supply chain functions.
* Apply FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) to optimize business and IT functions.
* Foster cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless integration of data flows and business processes.
* Lead digital transformation initiatives, developing scalable and sustainable operating models to support enterprise data strategies.
Qualifications:
* Industry Expertise: Over 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a comprehensive understanding of business processes and data flows across R&D, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain functions.
* Leadership in Transformation: Proven track record in driving data-driven transformations and implementing effective data governance frameworks.
* Advanced Data Management Skills: Deep expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) and practical application of FAIR data principles to business and IT systems.
* Technical Proficiency: Experience with tools such as MDM systems, data cataloging and lineage tools, and FAIR platforms (e.g., data marketplaces, semantic data platforms). Knowledge of ontologies and semantic data modeling is highly desirable.
* Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect detailed analysis to broader strategic goals.
* Collaborative Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excelling in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
