Reporting to: Finance and Administration Manager, Western Europe

The Role
As Chief Accountant for the German market, you will oversee the accounting operations for local legal entities and contribute to the financial integrity of the Western Europe Cluster. This position reports directly to the Finance & Administration Manager based in Belgium.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and internal standards
2. Lead the month-end close process and ensure accurate, timely reporting
3. Support consolidation and reporting activities
Compliance and Audit
1. Ensure adherence to local tax laws and regulatory requirements, including VAT, corporate tax, and payroll
2. Coordinate external and internal audits and provide necessary documentation
Accounts Payable/Receivable and Cash Management
1. Oversee AP/AR processes, cash flow, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
Collaboration and Strategic Support
1. Partner with the Finance Manager to develop budgets and forecasts
2. Coordinate payroll with external HR service providers
3. Collaborate with headquarters to optimize accounting processes
Process Improvement
1. Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and internal controls
2. Work with cross-functional teams to support financial alignment
Your Profile
Experience and Education
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2. 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
Skills
1. Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Excel skills
2. Strong analytical and organizational skills
3. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
4. Fluent in German and English
