Dematic is actively looking to appoint a new EHS Manager for the DACH region, which will support the local team and Director of EHS EMEA by managing the environmental, health, and safety systems and processes.
The EHS Manager is an integral member of the team and works closely with our Project Managers and the wider management team to provide technical advice on EHS for the active projects within the DACH region.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the EHS process at the location by partnering with “customers” within the facility to help them achieve business objectives through effective environmental, health, and safety systems and processes.

Tasks and Qualifications:
Key Accountabilities:
* Promote compliance with respective local legislation, Local and Dematic, and KION EHS policies, regulations, and standards. Continually stay abreast of legislation and share your knowledge and experience within the organisation & the EHS EMEA Leadership team.
* Advises and assists Managers and Project Managers on EHS&S matters, becoming a technical source for the location and projects.
* Develop appropriate safety and environmental auditing tools, create the audit plan based on project forecasting, and identify appropriate EHS onsite resources, conducting audits as appropriate in offices, projects, and other sites.
* Compile data and develop reports for Central, Regional, or Local Governments, Corporate entities, and Dematic internal, including monthly internal reports, accident/incident reports, KION Sustainability reports, BBSO, H&S Inspections, and other country and local agencies.
* Identify significant opportunities for EHS&S improvement, implementing permanent corrective action as a final step to problem solving. Create action and training plans to achieve the results.
* Maintain ISO14001 and ISO 45001 certification and improve existing management system.
* Act as Dematic EHS&S representative to the Authorities, Industrial associations, and to the customer.
* Coordinate the activities of the EHS teams and consultants in the different countries including risk assessments, H&S plans for projects, emergency plans, and crisis management.
* Lead EHS DACH Team and maintain EHS DACH cost center.
* Implementation of EHS programs: e.g. Work at Heights, Electrical Safety, Lock-out/Tag-out, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Hazard Communication Program (GHS), Confined Space, Chemical Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Ergonomics Surveys, industrial hygiene studies, Voluntary CPR/First Aid/Fire Brigade Training, Loss prevention services, Energy Conservation campaigns, energy saving projects.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree in Safety, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
* Certified Health and Safety Engineer (Sicherheitsfachkraft)
* Established background and technical expertise in EHS processes with experience working on construction projects or in a similar industrial field.
* Experience in health, safety, and/or sustainability certifications (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001).
* Possesses excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others and establish and maintain relationships with co-workers.
* Strategical thinking, organized and able to create and follow-up action plans.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Leadership skills in driving safety culture within the business.
* Strong leadership in guiding direct reports for clear organization & vision.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
* Verbal and written fluency in both German and English C1.
* Ability and willingness to travel to operational sites when required (up to 30%).
